More About Jeffrey

I started my shamanic healing practice in 2006 after receiving my initial shamanic healing training with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. Before that, I had a technical career and then a massage therapy and massage instruction practice, which began in 1999. While living in Huntsville, AL, I founded and operated the Shining Mountain Healing Center, where I offered orthopedic massage, shamanic healing, and systemic and family constellations. In 2017, I moved back to the mountains of Western North Carolina and founded Living Energy Healing, my animist healing practice.

I am an animist healing practitioner specializing in compassionate depossession, curse unraveling, mindroom technology, and systemic and family constellations. I help people manage the energies of their spaces. As an educator, I teach people how to do all of these things and coach people who already do them.

A brief history of my healing arts credentials

I graduated from Duke University in 1984 with a degree in Computer Science and a concentration in Electrical Engineering. My education in the healing arts began in 1998 when I enrolled to study massage and also took my first Reiki course in 1998. I became a licensed massage therapist in Alabama in 1999, and a licensed massage instructor in Alabama in 2001.

 

I took my first shamanic journeying training in 2005. In 2008, I studied in a two-week shamanic intensive, learning fundamental shamanic healing methods of Soul Retrieval, Extraction of Energetic Intrusions, Divination, Psychopomp, and Depossession.

 

In 2010, I began my studies with Betsy Bergstrom, learning Compassionate Depossession, Curse Unraveling, Mediumship, and the practice of Seiðr, the Norse system of magic, healing, and divination. This led to a study and apprenticeship in traditional Swedish Trolldom.

in 2011 I began my studies of the Andean Cosmology, and have worked with an indigenous teacher from the Andes since 2013.

Since 2021 I have been honored to be one of Betsy's class assistants in all of her trainings.​

In sum, I have 27+ years of experience in studying and teaching the healing arts, and 21+ years of experience studying and teaching the shamanic healing arts. My clients now number in the thousands. ​

I live and work in the mountains of Western North Carolina, where I was born.

As an intuitive child, I was aware of the energies around me. I sensed things, but I didn't know exactly what I was sensing, or how. I come by this honestly: my Ancestors carry a healthy dose of intuitive gifts on both sides. 

​​

My interest in the energies all around me drew me to Engineering School, and I became an Electrical Engineer and a software developer. As my technical career progressed, I felt that I wasn't making a difference in people's lives. I spoke and asked the Universe for a new direction. 

​​

Massage school was the answer, the new direction to explore something new. Through my massage studies, my intuition opened again. First came Reiki, then animism. The connection felt deep, as if I'd arrived home to something within myself. With this came greater training and awareness in energy medicine, energy healing, and myriad questions about how spiritual energies affect the human body. 

 

I don't have all of the answers. I'll never have them all! Energy Healing and the Andean Cosmology's extraordinarily sophisticated personal energy clarifying and harmonizing practices are the best methods I've found so far. I've been beautifully buoyed up by many loving and skilled people who came before me.
